PacketRaven offers a diverse range of Network Traffic Access Points (TAPs) designed for secure, reliable, and uninterrupted monitoring across copper and fiber optic networks. Moreover, these TAPs provide 100% reliable network data to monitoring tools without introducing a single point of failure, ensuring the highest integrity for network security and analysis. Specifically, PacketRaven Copper Portable Network TAPs are FPGA-based devices for copper networks, supporting speeds of 10M, 100M, and 1G. They are seamlessly integrated into the network line to forward all traffic without interruption. Additionally, operating at OSI Layer 1 without MAC or IP addresses, they are undetectable without specialized equipment, offering robust protection against hackers and maintaining data integrity. These TAPs are portable but can also be installed in data centers using a 19″ mounting frame and feature redundant power supplies for enhanced reliability.
Similarly, PacketRaven Fiber TAPs are passive mirroring devices for optical networks, routing all data traffic without interruption. Like copper TAPs, they operate at OSI Layer 1, ensuring undetectability and data integrity. Furthermore, supporting speeds up to 400G, they are available in portable or rack-mounted configurations, making them ideal for data center use. Additionally, they provide permanent network access without risk, perfect for network forensics, security, and monitoring.
In addition, Hybrid Fiber TAPs combine media conversion and signal regeneration, offering passive, secure, and reliable data tapping in optical networks. They ensure uninterrupted traffic with no packet loss while maintaining data integrity. Moreover, these TAPs are passive on the network side, preventing traffic interruption during power failures, and feature redundant power supplies for monitoring-side reliability. They also function as data diodes, with monitoring ports physically isolated from network ports to prevent unauthorized access. Supporting speeds of 100Mbps (100Base-FX) or 1G (1000Base-SX), they are available in portable or rack-mounted configurations.

Portable Network tap Mounting Options
MOBILE USE
The standard versions of our Portable Network TAPs are designed for mobile use (without additional accessories), but can also be installed in a server rack using an additional server rack mounting frame (see Accessories above) and rackmount frame mounting kit (see Accessories above), or mounted on a DIN top-hat rail using a DIN top-hat rail clip (see Accessories above).
SERVER RACK MOUNTING
To install our portable TAPs in a server rack, you need our server rack mounting frame with item number PRP-1U3-V2, as well as a rackmount frame mounting kit (item number PRP-1U3-CLIP) for the TAP.
The server rack mounting frame PRP-1U3-V2 provides space for up to 3 portable PacketRaven Network TAPs.
Both components are available as accessories.
DIN RAIL MOUNTING
As a further alternative, we also offer a top-hat rail clip for our TAPs for mounting on a TS35/7.5 DIN top-hat rail. This clip can be rotated by 180° so that the connections of the TAP can be aligned according to the respective requirements. This DIN rail clip, available as an accessory, has the item number PRP-DIN-CLIP.
