NEOXPacketRoo: The Revolutionary Solution for Secure Data Transmission in Critical Infrastructures at it-sa 2024
(Langen, 10.10.2024) Protecting IT/OT networks in critical sectors such asenergy supply, transportation, defence and industrial manufacturing is at the
heart of cyber security strategy. Applications requiring Safety Integrity Levels (SIL) 3 and 4 are particularly vulnerable to cyber threats, which are exacerbated by the growing risk of attacks on operational technology networks. With the introduction of NEOXPacketRoo, NEOX Networks presents an innovative solution to improve the security of IT/OT infrastructures, ensuring unidirectional, secure data transmission and minimising the risk of cyber-attacks.
A key challenge in OT/IT communication is to securely transfer data such as sensor data from OT to IT environments without compromising the essential air gap – the physical separation between the two environments. The NEOXPacketRoo fulfils this requirement with a robust data diode that ensures complete galvanic isolation of the networks and enables only unidirectional transmission. The solution thus offers maximum security while maintaining the
critical air gap for OT systems.
In addition to the hardware, NEOX Networks offers the NEOXSecureFileTransmitter, a software solution for secure, one-way file transfer from OT to IT systems. The SecureFileTransmitter works independently of the manufacturer and can be integrated into existing infrastructures that already have a data diode. In combination with PacketRoo, it forms a scalable and powerful solution for Windows and Linux environments that ensures both seamless unidirectional data transfer and the highest level of cyber security.
To minimise misconfigurations and further increase security, the NEOXPacketRoo is offered exclusively in fixed configurations where no port settings can be changed after installation. This closed system design is suitable for both civilian and military applications and offers users a reliable and future-proof solution to protect their critical infrastructures.
NEOX Networks will be presenting PacketRoo for the first time at it-sa 2024 (22 to 24 October, Hall 7A, Stand 412) in Nuremberg.
