PacketRaven Portable 1G Hybrid MM TAP
The PacketRaven Portable 1G Hybrid Multimode Fiber TAP is a compact, high-reliability solution designed for 100M and 1G network monitoring in Multimode environments, 1000Base-SX standards. Built with a secure, FPGA-based architecture, it guarantees zero packet loss, ultra-low latency, and 100% traffic mirroring, including FCS/CRC errored packets that are often missed by SPAN ports. With breakout, aggregation, and regeneration modes, the TAP can be flexibly deployed to suit different monitoring requirements, while Plug-n-Play configuration via DIP switches enables quick and easy setup.
Completely invisible to the network, the TAP has no IP or MAC address, making it untraceable and immune to hacking. The integrated NEOX Data Diode function ensures full reverse-path isolation for maximum security. Its 100% passive design introduces no additional latency or disruption to active network traffic and supports split ratios from 50:50 to 90:10. The device also supports up to 16K Jumbo Frames, making it ideal for modern high-volume traffic environments.
Power redundancy is provided through dual 5V AC/DC inputs and a 12–48V DC range, ensuring continuous operation in critical scenarios. Ruggedized models are available for harsh or remote environments, and optional high-security versions comply with IEC 62443 standards, featuring secure boot and encrypted firmware. PacketRaven Portable TAP Accessories
The PacketRaven Portable Network TAPs are designed with maximum versatility and mobility in mind, making them ideal for both temporary and permanent indoor and outdoor deployments. Out of the box, these units are fully operational for mobile use and require no additional accessories. However, for structured environments such as data centers and industrial plants, the TAPs can be conveniently installed in a standard 19” server rack using our dedicated server rack mounting frame, which accommodates multiple PacketRaven Portable TAPs side by side.
To secure the TAPs within the mounting frame, the rackmount frame mounting kit is required. Both items are available as accessories and allow for stable, professional installation that is space-efficient and organized. As an alternative to rack installation, PacketRaven TAPs can also be mounted on TS35/7.5 DIN top-hat rails, commonly used in industrial and field environments. For this purpose, we offer a DIN rail mounting clip that allows easy and secure attachment. The clip is rotatable by 180°, providing flexibility to align the TAP’s ports according to specific installation requirements. This is particularly useful in space-constrained enclosures or when front-facing access is necessary.
Additionally, we provide custom Y-cables as part of the accessory lineup, enabling efficient and clean cable management in breakout or aggregation configurations. These cables are built to match the high-performance standards of PacketRaven TAPs, ensuring signal integrity and reliability in any deployment scenario. With all these mounting and connectivity options, PacketRaven Portable TAPs offer unmatched adaptability, enabling users to deploy them in mobile setups, secure rack environments, or rugged industrial systems without compromising performance or accessibility.

DIN RAIL MOUNTING
As a further alternative, we also offer a top-hat rail clip for our TAPs for mounting on a TS35/7.5 DIN top-hat rail. This clip can be rotated by 180° so that the connections of the TAP can be aligned according to the respective requirements.
